Text Clubs Vs. Group Messages - What's the Difference?

Text Clubs Vs. Group Messages - What's the Difference?

Overview:

Two things that sound the same, but are actually quite different! You can read more about each below.

Group Messages:

Are meant for targeted, specific communications to a select set of listeners based on implied consent. Members of a Message Group are limited to 50 people. Messages appear as one message to each member of that Message Group, and members of that group will not be able to message each other.

For example; if you've qualified 5 people for an in person promotional piece, you'd use Group Messages to inform them about meeting details.  ie; "A reminder to meet outside the Apple Store at Mayfair Mall no later than 8:55 AM this Saturday morning! If you have any questions or concerns, please call xxx-xxx-xxxx" OR "Congratulations you've won 2 tickets to the big game on Friday at 5:00 PM. Your ticket will be under your name at Will Call at the Box Office. Questions? Call xxx-xxx-xxxx". This feature does not require end user opt-in or "subscribers". These messages will be delivered separately.

Text Clubs:

Are designed for one way mass messaging based on explicit consent collected by double Opt-In. Text Clubs are unlimited in how many members can be in each club. Messages appear as one message to each member of that club, and club members will not be able to message each other.

For example; if you have an exclusive interview coming up - you could send out a call to action to your subscribers such as, "MICK JAGGER - live on the air this Friday. Have questions? Send them our way. Tune in to the live interview Friday with Bob & Brian." This is a feature you'll most likely be using on a regular basis and requires by law, end user opt in, or subscription.
