Message Groups

Overview:

Message Groups are meant for targeted, specific communications to a select set of listeners based on implied consent.  The Group Messaging feature is for a very specific use and is something you should only use for that particular use.

The FCC's Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), safeguards against unsolicited messages and potential hefty penalties to those involved, so Group Messaging should not be abused in this sense.

Creating and Sending to a Message Group:

To create a Message Group, click into the Left Side Menu and click "Message Groups". You must create a Message Group before you can send a message to that group.

To create a Message Group, click Manage. Then at the top of the screen click the green "Add Message Group" icon. Name it, and select the sender you want the group to be associated with. In the Recipients window, you can search for contacts by name, or number, their info will populate as you search. Select the contacts you want to add to your Message Group. You can select up to 50 recipients for a Message Group. Once complete, click the green "Add Message Group" button on the bottom of the screen. You can edit or delete message groups on the main Message Groups page.

To send a message to a Message Group click into the "Send" option under teh Message Groups drop down in the Left Side Menu. Then, click the green "Send new message to Message Group" button at the top of the screen.

Select the Message Group you want to send to in the drop down option, then type your message in the window below.

Members in Message Group will not see other members numbers when they receive that message. The message will appear as a 1:1 message between you and each member in the Message Group.

When ready to send, click the green "Send Message to Group" button at the bottom of the page.

Examples:

Multiple winners of a particular prize or participants in a specific event. - If you've qualified 5 people for an in person promotional piece, you'd use Group Messages to inform them about meeting details.  ie; "A reminder to meet outside the Apple Store at Mayfair Mall no later than 8:55 AM this Saturday morning! If you have any questions or concerns, please call xxx-xxx-xxxx" OR "Congratulations you've won 2 tickets to the big game on Friday at 5:00 PM. Your ticket will be under your name at Will Call at the Box Office. Questions? Call xxx-xxx-xxxx".
