4. Privacy Policy
Ensure a compliant Privacy Policy is clearly linked on your website homepage. This needs to be clearly labelled and obvious to the end-user. It also needs to be found within one click of your websites homepage.
ALREADY HAVE A PRIVACY POLICY?
Insert Consent & Opt-Out Instructions
Your privacy policy must clearly specify that information obtained by SMS origination will not be shared with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes, and include opt-out instructions. It’s best to insert this verbiage below any details about sharing information with third parties or affiliates. When in doubt, insert this at the bottom of your privacy policy:
"Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates, both internal and external. If you wish to be removed from receiving future communications, you can opt out by texting STOP."
DON’T HAVE A PRIVACY POLICY?
Please request we send you a boilerplate.
Once completed, please notify Text Groove that this has been completed, along with a link to the privacy policy.

Wait for Carrier Approval:
During this time, our team will complete applications for carrier approval of your text line.
This process consists of:
> Registering your Brand: Using your Business/organization’s name, EIN/tax ID, and other relevant details.
> Vetting your Brand: Carriers look for the legitimacy of the business, compliance with regulations, and proper documentation. > Your Brand is Scored: Brands are scored based on compliance, business legitimacy, and other factors which can affect approval speed and messaging throughput.
> Registering your Campaign: Our team submits a requested campaign, including Campaign type, use case details, messaging content examples, and a compliant Privacy Policy.
Different campaign types include marketing, customer care, notifications, etc.
There are specific requirements and limitations for each campaign type.
> Privacy Policy: Must clearly state that information obtained via SMS will not be shared for marketing purposes and include opt-out instructions.
> Wait for Campaign Vetting: Vetting is done by the Aggregator for most campaigns. For Sweepstakes, additional vetting is required from T-Mobile and AT&T.
__
This process can take up to 3 weeks for carriers to vet and approve, and may involve some requests from the carriers if information is not compliant (ex: privacy policy is missing or doesn’t meet expectations) or incorrect (EIN number is incorrect, for example). We will inform you of any missing information or required updates that you will need to make along the way.
| Wait for Carrier Approval:
During this time, our team will complete a Short Code Brief and application for carrier approval of your text line.
Due to Short code having the highest level of vetting, this process will often take some back and forth with the CTIA and our team.
This can take up to 6 weeks, and may involve some requests from the CTIA/carriers if needed.
| Provide Toll Free Verification Example and Wait for Approval:
If your number is a toll-free line, we’ll need you to add a quick line on your Contact Us page noting the required wording.
Once this is completed, our team will complete a Toll-Free Number Verification Brief for approval upstream. This can take up to 5 business days. If there is not sufficient or incorrect information, this can be pushed if a resubmission is needed.
