Overview:
Replacement fields are a handy tool to customize messages and save you time, all while personalizing your messages to listeners. They can be used anywhere in platform and are completely unlimited. Field Replacements pull information from the Contact Info panel in the Main Sender window.
How To Use Replacement Fields:
Replacement Fields pull information that you add from the Contact Info panel (1) on the Main Sender page. Contact Info consists of Name, Email Address, Location, Demographic Info, and Notes. When adding a Replacement Field, simply click the replacements icon (2) below the text box and choose which Replacement Field you would like to use. The options are:
- Contact Fields: [full_name], [first_name], [last_name], [email], [location]
- User Fields: [my_name], [my_email]
Type your message, and insert the replacement field where necessary. Then click "Send".
Example - Hey [first_name], thanks so much for listening. We’ll get your song request up next! 🎸
Hints and Tips:
- Replacement Fields can be used throughout Text Groove, but are best utilized in auto reply messages that are set to be sent automatically by Text Groove.
- Example - If you set a keyword for a contest you are running, you can set an auto-reply message for that keyword that says "Thanks [first_name]. You have been entered to win the tickets." If the listeners information have been entered in the Contact Info panel, then they will get a custom automated response that uses their name.
- The Contact Info panel is where Replacement Fields pulls its information from, so it's best practice to keep this information accurate and up to date (ie. Don't write nicknames in the "Name" Field). You can write notes and nicknames and things like that in the "Notes" field, as this field is for internal use only.
