Hide swears instantly and automatically from your inbox or add your own phrases and words to filter out using the Message Filtering App.
Adding the Message Filtering App:
Setting up the Message Filtering App:
Once you have added the Message Filtering App to your Text Groove account, click into it in the Apps Dropdown in the Left Side Menu. Select "Message Filtering", on the next page, click the Green "Create a Filter" button in the top left of the screen.
Fill out the following information for that particular filter below:
- Name of Filter - Name of the filter to keep it organized for your organization
- Assign to Sender - The sender you would like this filter to be applied to.
- Type of filter:
- Profanity - Automatically filter out the most common swear words.
- List of Words - Provide a comma delimited list of words or phrases you would like to match/remove. Our system will additionally remove any plurals, some numeric/symbol replacements, and word padding on any list you provide.

Below this section is a list of boxes to check for each filter. Check any boxes you would like to apply to this filter. The Boxes that are specific to this app are:
Remove Matched Words - Replace any of the words which match the filter with stars (*) with the same length.
- Quarantine Message - The message in its original unaltered form will be stored in a “quarantine“ section for review.
- Automatically Block Profile - This will automatically block the profile of the person sending you the message. Messages will still be recorded/saved but they will not show in the interface.
Once all of these options have been set for this filter. Click the green "Create Filter" button at the bottom of the page.
Edit, View, Delete and Disable Filters:
Once a filter has been created you can Edit it by clicking the green Edit button under Actions for that filter. You can view all blocked and quarantined messages by clicking the yellow Quarantine button under Actions for that filter. You can also delete or disable a filter after it has been created.
