Keyword Match Types: Relative, Perfect and Exact

Keyword Match Types: Relative, Perfect and Exact

Overview:

When setting a keyword to use in the Keywords App, there are three options available to choose from.
By default, keywords are never case-sensitive. For most use-cases, we recommend using Exact Match.

Exact Match:

The set Keyword needs to match exactly within the message.
Examples:
  1. The keyword "antwould match in this message: "The keyword is ant."
    1. But would not match in this message: "Sorry, I went on a bit of a rant."
  2. The keyword "passwould match in this message: "That was a great pass."
    1. But would not match in this message: "I took the wrong passage."

Perfect Match:

The set Keyword must be the entire message with nothing else before or after it.
Examples:
  1. The keyword "ant" would match in this message: "ant", or "ANT", or "Ant."
    1. But would not match in this message: "I think the keyword is ant."
  2. The keyword "pass" would match in this message: "PASS", or "Pass" or "pass."
    1. But would not match in this message: "pass - Sarah."

Relative Match:

The set Keyword can appear anywhere in the message (on its own, or within another word).
Examples:
  1. The keyword "ant" would match in these messages: "ant", or "The key word is ant", or "Sorry, I went on a bit of a rant."
    1. But would not match without "ant" appearing anywhere in the text message.
  2. The keyword "passwould match in this message: " Pass", or " Pass it on", or "I bought a compass."
    1. But would not match without "pass" appearing anywhere in the text message.
